One of the original points of this newsletter was to tell people about upcoming training courses. That has been sadly lacking over recent years as I haven’t been running any public training courses since the pandemic.
But that’s all about to change. I have three online training courses coming up. And the first is in just a couple of days.
If you’ve been reading this newsletter for a while, you’ll know that I’ve been taking an interest in GitHub Actions. I even wrote a book about Github Actions last year.
If you haven’t come across GitHub Actions before, it’s basically a tool for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment. But it can be used for so much more than that. GitHub are allowing you to run code on their servers. Running that code can be triggered on a schedule, by an event (like a commit) in your repo or just by pushing a button on your repo’s web page.
I was interviewed by Software Engineering Radio about GitHub Actions last year.
If you’re using GitHub to store your software, then I’m sure that GitHub Actions will allow you to do something that will make your life easier.
I’m running a two-hour introduction to GitHub Actions this coming Wednesday (28 August). It will start at 15:00 UK time and will be running over Zoom. You can get full details (and book tickets) from my web site.
And that’s not all. I have two more course planned over the next few weeks. If you’re not interested in GitHub Actions, then perhaps you’re more interested in:
GitHub Pages (11 Sep)
GitHub Copilot (25 Sep)
Hopefully, one of these subjects will interest you.
Tickets for the courses are £49 each. But, as a subscriber to my newsletter, you can use this promo link which will give you 20% off.
I hope to see some of you online on Wednesday.
